One of our Savvy Nurse writers and founder of the Networth Nurse, Savannah Arroyo, is here with us today to share with us some insights about investing for nurses. She built the Networth Nurse to 3 different pillars: personal finance, career growth, and real estate where she is helping nurses by sharing resources and tools to help them grow in nursing and grow their wealth.
About Savannah
She was in high school when she realized her love for nursing and by that time, knew that she is ready to go to college. Right after she graduated with a nursing degree, she worked with a couple of different specialties but she was naturally drawn towards a leadership position that was taking on processes and improvement. So, she ended up going back to school and got her Master’s Degree in Nursing Leadership and Administration, works in a couple of different specialties, and relocated to Los Angeles, California.
Her recent administration position is becoming an Assistant Nurse Manager. Then, at the beginning of 2020, she started investing in real estate. In October 2021, she was able to step down from her full-time RN job, and now she worked per diem in the pre-op department which she loves! She loves talking to doctors, she loves nursing, so she is not into giving it up entirely.
Tips to Start Investing for Nurses and Beginners in Real Estate
If you want to invest in real estate but are not sure about the process, you really have to educate yourself. You have to learn how to run numbers and how to analyze deals. They also listened to podcasts, read books and watch YouTube videos where people share their strategies on how to analyze properties.
